REBECA AVILA

HIDALGO- Rebeca Avila, 66, died Thursday, March 7, 2024, at McAllen Heart Hospital.

Rebeca was carefree and lively spirited. She loved the simple joys of a good show with a cup of coffee as well as spending time with family. Though she became ill suddenly, she fought bravely and fiercely. Blessed be that she was surrounded by her loved ones and succumbed peacefully. Her resilience and courage were a true reflection of her spirit and strength. She will be dearly missed and forever remembered by all whose lives she touched.

She is preceded in death by her first husband, Ofelio Avila and her parents, Mariano and Gloria Del Carmen Suarez.

Mrs. Avila is survived by Hector Vega, her four children, Raul Alberto Avila, Annette Avila, Fabiola (Jose) Rodriguez, Miranda (Rigoberto Rodriguez) Vega; 10 grandchildren, Balam Avila, Tenoch Avila, Britany Shaffer, Santos Gonzalez, Itzel Avila, Elian Gonzalez, Mariana Rebeca Rodriguez, Mikeal Donnovan Rodriguez, Rigito Rodriguez, Rylee Rodriguez; a great-granddaughter, Sofia Avila; three siblings, Marianela Suarez, Mariano Suarez and Alfredo De Jesus (Patricia Lara) Mendez.  

Cremation will take place at Memorial Cremation Center.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
