ALAMO – Eduardo “Papa Bear” Reyes, 60, died Thursday, February 16, 2017.
Born in Alamo, he had lived there most of his life and was a member of The Family Church in Weslaco.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Jesus and Angelita Reyes.
Mr. Reyes is survived by his wife, Ida Reyes; four daughters, Angel Mendoza, Jeannette Lira, Sandra (Martin) Garcia, Nelda (Samuel) Grimaldo; nine grandchildren, Ashley, Jillian, Natalie, Martin III, Emily, Hayley, Matthew, Lizette, Arianna; a great-grandson, Mason; and six siblings, Delia Nino, Damacio Reyes, Jesus Reyes, Aracelia Gomez, Amalia Escobedo, Erasmo Reyes.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. prayer service Friday, February 17, 2017, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will take place at 2 p.m. Saturday, February 18, 2017, at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Val Verde Memorial Gardens in Donna.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
