HILARIO “EL CHINO” REYES SAN JUAN — Hilario “El Chino” Reyes, 88, died Saturday, May 9, 2015, at his residence in San Juan. Born in Montemorelos, N.L., he lived in San Juan all of his life. Hilario was known among his friends as “El Chino” however, around his grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren he was “Apa Layo”. He enjoyed the Pulga of Alamo where he spent his time talking to his friends and other people. Hilario loved cheese on all his meals and drank beer at any time of the day. Hilario “El Chino”, “Apa Layo” will be greatly missed. Mr. Reyes is preceded in death by his wife, Celia Reyes; two sons, Sergio and Luis Carlos Reyes; Parents, Hilario and Josefina Reyes; brother, Juan Reyes. Hilario is survived by twelve children; Maria del Roble Lara, Jose Hilario Reyes, Juan Reyes, Gloria Delgadillo, Mayla Villarreal, Olga Reyes, Daniel K. Reyes, all of San Juan, Rodolfo (Irma) Reyes, of Alamo, Sylvia Cavazos, of Pharr, Horacio Reyes, of North Dakota, Edilberto Reyes, of Dallas, Dora L. Carrizales, of Edinburg, Edelmiro Reyes, of Wisconsin; 44 grandchildren; 59 great-grandchildren; 8 great-great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 4 to 9 p.m. with a 7 p.m. rosary Monday, May 11, 2015, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 12, 2015, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Parish in San Juan. Interment will follow at San Juan Cemetery. Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
