JOSE REYES ALAMO – Jose Reyes, 91, died Wednesday, June 11, 2014, at his residence in Alamo. Born in Mexico, he had lived in Alamo most of his life. He enjoyed the western life, and had a passion for horses and guns. He will be greatly missed. Mr. Reyes is preceded in death by his parents, Faustino and Joaquina Reyes. He is survived by his wife, Francisca Reyes of Alamo; four sons, Jose Reyes, Jr. of La Villa, Artemio (Elida) Reyes of San Juan, Roberto (Rosario) Reyes and Raul (Nora) Reyes, both of Alamo; six daughters, Rafaela (Jose) Romero of Houston, Esperanza Reyes, Maria Del Refugio (Adalberto) Aguirre, San Juana Reyes, Yolanda (Ricardo) Cano, all of Alamo, and Rosalva (Wenzel) Cranmore of Nebraska; 28 grandchildren, 71 great-grandchildren and 15 great-great-grandchildren; and two sisters. Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary today, June 12, 2014, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. Friday, June 13, 2014, at Resurrection Catholic Church in Alamo. Interment will follow at Val Verde Memorial Gardens in Donna. Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
