JOSE GUADALUPE REYES

ALAMO — Jose Guadalupe Reyes, 89, died Monday, May 31, 2010, at Rio Grande Regional Hospital in McAllen.

Born in La Cantera, Nuevo Leon, Mexico, Mr. Reyes had lived in Alamo for 22 years and was formerly of Pharr. He was a member of St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Pharr.

He gave so much love and happiness to all those whose lives he touched. He always had a smile on his face, which tended to be contagious. His smile helped others to laugh life's worries away.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Tomasa Lopez Reyes; and two brothers, Elias Reyes and Ricardo Amaro.

Mr. Reyes is survived by two sons, Saul (Ella) Reyes, of Alamo, Joel Reyes, of Pharr; two daughters, Judge Maria Socorro Reyes (Francisco) Leos and Rosalinda Reyes, both of Alamo; ten grandchildren, Yanel Leos, Jade Reyes, Yesenia Leos, Reece Reyes, Joseph Reyes, Jose Alejandro Chihuahua, Thomas Chihuahua, Nicole Chihuahua, Erin Reyes and Ember Reyes; five great-grandchildren, Dominic, Biance and Joaquin Espinoza, Hanna and Joshua Perez; and a brother, Antonio Reyes, of Montemorelos, Nuevo Leon, Mexico.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 pm, with a 7 pm rosary today, June 2, 2010, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service will be at 2 pm Thursday, June 3, 2010, at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Pharr. Interment will follow at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr. Pallbearers will be Reece Reyes, Joseph Reyes, Jose Alejandro Chihuahua, Thomas Chihuahua, Andres Espinoza and Gilberto Gonzalez.

Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
