DAVID ANTHONY “TITO” REYNA, JR.

EDINBURG - David Anthony Reyna, Jr., born, September 18, 1953, in St Charles, Illinois went to the Lord on January 9, 2017. He is survived by his wife, May Reyna, his daughters Yvette (Gerald) Obregon, Cristal Reyna and his son David A. Reyna III, all of Edinburg, and his two grandchildren, Brianna and Brandon Obregon. He also leaves behind his sisters, Judge Linda Reyna Yanez, Yolanda (Bob) Hinojosa and Leticia Leal of Edinburg and Blanca (Carmen) Ritacca of Chicago, Illinois, and long-time friend/brother, Roberto “Uncle Bob” Lopez of Harlingen, TX. Also nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents, David A. Reyna and Angela Zavala, his grandnephew Byron “BK” Richardson and grandniece Bianca Hinojosa, and cousin and brother Charlie Tamayo. David graduated from Addison Trail High School, in Addison, Illinois in 1971, where he excelled on the gymnastics team, in tumbling, parallel bars and pommel horse. He received medals for Best All-Around Gymnast in Northern Illinois. He was a beautiful sight to see. He joined the Army after graduation and served in the Vietnam War as an army medic. He then attended Pan American University, majoring in Philosophy. His early career was in car sales and was repeatedly Salesman of the Month, he started his own business along the way but his heart has always been as an artist. He has played with various local groups and his stage name is The Blind Man playing a mean blues harmonica, with some serious black sun glasses. The Blues Brothers had nothing on him. He was a dreamer, marched to his own drum, and had a keen, piercing wit. He will be missed, he is loved, and May, his partner in life for over four decades, while on this earth, will continue to watch over their children and grandchildren who were the light of his life, while he watches them from above.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 6:30 p.m. rosary today, January 12, 2017, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton in Edinburg.
