MARIA ISABEL REYNA EDINBURG - Maria Isabel Reyna, 59, passed away Wednesday, September 25, 2013, at Comfort House in McAllen. Mrs. Reyna was born in Rio Grande City, TX on November 24, 1953. Isabel lived in San Isidro for 17 years where she worked as a teacher. In 1997 she moved to Edinburg and continued her profession as an educator in Hidalgo until her retirement in 2010. Our greatest miracle was that she was with us for 13 years after being diagnosed with breast cancer. She faced all challenges that came her way with full force and lived for her family and friends. Isabel had the purest heart anyone would know and will be missed immensely. Her life will always be honored and celebrated. Isabel is preceded in death by her parents, Tomas and Severa Salinas. She is survived by her husband, Roberto Reyna of Edinburg; a son, Jose E. Garza, Jr. of Edinburg; a sister, Maria Guadalupe Cooper of San Antonio, TX; four brothers, Tomas Salinas, Jr. of Pharr, Rolando Salinas of Humble, TX, Juan Manuel Salinas of Portland, TX, Eduardo Salinas of Edinburg. Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary today, September 27, 2013, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service will take place at 9 a.m. Saturday, September 28, 2013, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Edinburg. Cremation will follow at Val Verde Memorial Gardens in Donna. Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
