VICENTE REYNA ALAMO- Vicente Reyna, 81, died Sunday, June 7, 2015, at Edinburg Regional Hospital. Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies; and whoever lives and believes in me will never die.” –John 11:25 Vicente leaves a legacy that will live forever within his family. He was a family oriented man, who placed his family before anything. To his wife Maria Luisa he was her best-friend, husband, and love of her life. Music had a great influence in his life not only did he play guitar, he especially enjoyed taking “serenatas” to his beloved wife. Mr. Reyna will be greatly missed for his charisma and smile. He is preceded in death by his parents, Jose Z. Reyna and Romana Riojas; and a grandson, Stephen G. Reyna. Mr. Reyna is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Maria Luisa Reyna, of Alamo; seven children, Felix (Sheri) Reyna, Aniceto (Rosario) Reyna, Eluterio Reyna, Jose Guadalupe (Esmeralda) Reyna, Vicente (Sylvia) Reyna, Jr., all of Alamo, Domingo (Maria Elena) Reyna, of Edinburg, Arnold (Raquel) Villarreal, of El Paso; two grandchildren whom he helped raised, Jose Angel Reyna, of Alamo, Erika (Uriel) Trinidad, of Mississippi; numerous grandchildren; and great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary Wednesday, June 10, 2015, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will take place at 1 p.m. Thursday, June 11, 2015, at Resurrection Catholic Church in Alamo. Interment will follow at Val Verde Memorial Gardens in Donna. Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
