Ruben "Torino" Rivera, 47, went home to our Lord Tuesday, April 11, 2017, at his residence in Edcouch.
Born in Elgin, IL, he had lived most of his life in Pharr. Torino was known as the "bandit" in his black camaro. Mr. Rivera's pride and joy were his children. He was a loving father and a great friend. Torino will be remembered forever for his warm charisma, jokes and smile by his family and friends.
Ruben is survived by eight children, Ashley Rivera, Jacob Bryan Rivera, Ruby Rivera, Ruben Rivera III, Christian Ballesteros, Ruben Rivera, Jr., Pricilla Rivera, Raven Rivera; one grandson, Liam Rivera; his mother, Maria Rivera; three siblings, Sonia Rivera, Cecilia (Hector) Zamora, Ramiro R. Rivera; and his significant other, Marlene Trevino.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary Friday, April 14, 2017, at Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg. Funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 15, 2017, at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr.
