Robert "Bob" S. Urey Jr.

Robert "Bob" S. Urey Jr, 83, passed away Sunday, February 16, 2025, at McAllen Medical Center. 

He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert S. Urey Sr. and Helen Urey; step-mother, Sarah Urey; two siblings, Ken Urey and Rae Urey.

Mr. Urey is survived by his wife, Maria Dolores Urey; six children, Paula Marie (Robert) Funderburk, Stephanie (Allen) Wright, Georgia Urey, Michelle (Lorne) Greene, Robert Shaw, Robin Urey; seven grandchildren, Kaitlynn Funderburk, Bonnie (Jordan) Ott, Alex (Bryan) Bruening, Simon Corizine, Andrew Corizine, Dixie (Grant) Smart, LJ (Amanda) Greene; five great-grandchildren, Blake, Emerson, Koral, Killian, Amelia; sisters, Rita Shotzberger, Lisa Grossmann; numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. with a 6 p.m. rosary Monday, February 24, 2025, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service will take place at 12 noon Tuesday, February 25, 2025, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Edinburg. Interment will follow at Rio Grande Valley State Veterans Cemetery in Mission. 

Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
