Esther Elia Rocha, 83, passed away Sunday, February 27, 2022, at her residence in Edinburg, Texas.
Esther was born in Edinburg, Texas, where she lived all her life and was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Edinburg, Texas.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Cresencio "Chris" Rocha; and her parents, Simon and Petra Navarro.
Mrs. Rocha is survived by her three children, Cynthia (Harold) Saenz, Margie (Billy) Santos, Rolie (Laurie) Rocha; six grandchildren, Christina Rocha, Christopher Saenz, Lorissa Saenz, R.J. Rocha, Marcos Santos, Marissa Santos; two siblings, Englantina (Ruben) Gonzales, Noe (Gloria) Navarro; brother-in-law, Felix (Lala) Rocha; several nieces and nephews and friends who became family.
Esther was retired from McAllen ISD where she worked for over 35 years and loved the children and established lasting friendships. She was an avid baker and cook who enjoyed preparing meals and desserts for her family. Ester was also an avid reader and was entertained by word search puzzles, she also enjoyed watching and cheering on the Dallas Cowboys along with all the Edinburg Football teams.
Visitation will be held from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. with a 9 a.m. rosary Tuesday, March 1, 2022, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton in Edinburg, Texas. Funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 1, 2022, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Edinburg, Texas. Private interment of cremated remains will take place at a later date.
