ELIDA RODEA
SAN JUAN - Elida Rodea, 81, died Saturday, January 15, 2011, at McAllen Medical Center.
Born in Pettus, Texas, Mrs. Rodea had lived in San Juan most of her life and was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Parish.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Apolinar Rodea; her parents, Alejandro and Rosa Longoria; one brother; and five sisters.
Mrs. Rodea is survived by five children, Yolanda Santillan and her husband Gilberto, George Rodea, Ricardo Rodea and his wife, Rosie, all of San Juan, Dora Casas and her husband, David, of Edinburg, Mari Leal and her husband, Ramiro Fonseca, of St. Charles, Illinois; a nephew who she loved as a son, Ed Noyola and his wife, Roxanne and their children, Lindsay and Nicolas, of Lansing, Michigan; eight grandchildren, Rebecca Kaitner and her husband, Mark, Daniel Santillan and his wife, LouAnn, David Santillan, Rosalynda Rodea, Devyn Casas, Mykal Fonseca, Keighleigh Fonseca, Jaqlyn Fonseca; four great-grandchildren, Angel, Samara, Sophia and Serena Santillan; and two sisters, Nicolasa Hernandez and Eloisa Pardo, both of San Juan.
Visitation will be held from 3 to 9 pm, with a 7 pm rosary today, January 17, 2011, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will be at 10 am Tuesday, January 18, 2011, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Parish in San Juan. Interment will follow at San Juan Cemetery.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
