ALAMO – Alicia B. Rodriguez, 74, died Friday, October 26, 2018, at The Heights of Alamo.
Born in Edinburg, Ms. Rodriguez lived in San Juan all of her life and was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Parish. She was formerly employed by PSJA ISD at Clover Elementary and Central Kitchen, and retired after 30 years of service.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Pablo and Jovita Benitez; a brother, Toribio Benitez; a sister, Guadalupe Garza; and two daughters, Sandra Cano and Sylvia Cano.
Alicia is survived by five children, Alicia (Gerardo Tamez) Cano of Alamo, Janie (Herman Olvera) Cano of Harlingen, Elena (Ruben) Cavazos and Dalia (To Van) Tran, both of Lubbock, Ruben Cano of San Juan; 14 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and 7 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary Sunday, October 28, 2018, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will take place at 2:30 p.m. Monday, October 29, 2018, at Resurrection Catholic Church in Alamo. Interment will follow at San Juan Cemetery.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
