Alonzo V. Rodriguez

ALONZO V. RODRIGUEZ EDINBURG - Alonzo V. Rodriguez, 72, died Monday, January 5, 2015, at his residence in Edinburg. Born in Harlingen, Mr. Rodriguez had lived in Edinburg most of his life. Alonzo was a proud US Navy Veteran who served overseas in Cuba. He was known as a loving husband, father, grandfather, but most of all a strong man of God. He was loved by many and will be dearly missed. He is preceded in death by his parents, Pablo and Maria Rodriguez; a sister, Noemi Norris. Alonzo is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Maria Guadalupe Rodriguez; three sons, Sergio (Lucila C.) Rodriguez, Jaime (Reena C.) Rodriguez, Javier (Diana) Rodriguez, all of Edinburg; five grandchildren; three sisters, Magdalena Wolk, Corina V. Rodriguez, both of Austin, TX, Delia Cruz of Phoenix, AZ. Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. prayer service today, January 6, 2015, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service will take place at 9 a.m. Wednesday, January 7, 2015, at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Rio Grande Valley State Veterans Cemetery in Mission. Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
