AMADO RODRIGUEZ PHARR – Amado Rodriguez, 84, died Wednesday, May 9, 2012, at his residence in Pharr. Born in Karnes City, Texas, Mr. Rodriguez had lived in Pharr all of his life. He is preceded in death by his wife, Dominga Rodriguez; parents, Jose I. and Victoriana Rodriguez; two brothers, Felix and Antonio Rodriguez; two sisters, Lucia Estraca, Josefina Martinez; and three grandchildren, Pedro Puga Jr., Carlos Avila Jr. and Serina Gabrielle King. Mr. Rodriguez is survived by nine children, Paulita (Manuel) Jurado, Celia R. Dominguez, Rosalinda Rodriguez, Elida Berta Rodriguez, all of Pharr, Jose Isabel (Maria) Rodriguez, of Lufkin, Texas, Maria Alejandra (Richard Hernandez) King, of Austin, Texas, Susana (Rogelio Perez) Rodriguez, Jaime Amado (Elizabeth) Rodriguez, Teresa Rodriguez, all of Pharr; a grandson who he raised as a son, Rodolfo Rodriguez, of Pharr; 28 grandchildren; 56 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Fortunato (Estela) Rodriguez, of Houston, Texas, Matias Rodriguez, of Pharr; and two sisters, Elida (Arturo) Hernandez, of Pharr, Juana Villarreal, of San Juan. A rosary was held Thursday, May 10, 2012, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will be at 11 a. today, May 11, 2012, at St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Pharr. Interment will follow at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr. On behalf of the Rodriguez family, we would like to thank All State Hospice, Doctor Asuaje, P.A. Ignacio and all of the nurses at McAllen Medical Center for their compassionate care and understanding during our time of need. Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
