ANGELITA "MAMA" PALOMARES RODRIGUEZ EDINBURG — Angelita "Mama" Palomares Rodriguez, 102, died Saturday, November 29, 2014, at Amara Hospice in Edinburg. Born in Mexico and formerly of La Blanca, she had lived in Edinburg most of her life and was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Gardening was Mama's life; her favorite flowers were gardenias. She was very religious, always praying, and her faith was an inspiration to her family. She is preceded in death by her husband, Magdaleno Rodriguez; three sons, Felipe Rodriguez, Francisco Rodriguez, Rosalio Rodriguez; a granddaughter, Joann Moreno; and a grandson, Edward Rodriguez. Mrs. Rodriguez is survived by six children, Martha (†Victor) Moreno, of San Marcos, Jose (Elida) Rodriguez, of San Juan, Rosa (Arturo) Rodriguez, Connie (Prudencio) Llanos, both of Edinburg, Marsy (Trino) Garcia, of El Paso, Margaret (Roy) Waterman, of Buda; 29 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and a brother, Margarito Palomares, of Edinburg. Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary today, December 1, 2014, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 East Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service will take place a 2 p.m. Tuesday, December 2, 2014, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Edinburg. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Edinburg. Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
