AURORA RODRIGUEZ MCALLEN – Aurora Rodriguez, 92, died Thursday, August 6, 2015 at Amara Hospice in Edinburg. Born in Hidalgo, she had lived the last 35 years in McAllen. She is preceded in death by her husband, Gilberto Rodriguez; a son, Alonso Rodriguez, Sr.; a brother, Armando Lira. Mrs. Rodriguez is survived by eight children, Ernestina (Gerardo) Hinojosa of Del Rio, TX, Gloria (Ricardo) Garza of Monterrey, MX, Gilberto ((Rosa Emilia) Rodriguez of Reynosa, MX, Jesus Rodriguez, Alma Rodriguez, both of Mission, Alonso (Sandra) Rodriguez, Jr., of Alamo, Cindy (Federico) Zacarias and Claudia (Esteban) Cavazos, both of McAllen; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Andres Lira, David Lira; and five sisters, Carmen Lopez, Maria Garza, Beatriz Saenz, Guillermina Solis and Benita Olguin. Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary Friday, August 7, 2015, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will take place at 9 a.m. Saturday, August 7, 2015, at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Roselawn Cemetery in McAllen. Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
