CANDIDO RODRIGUEZ, SR.

PHARR – Candido Rodriguez, Sr., 86, died Sunday, May 8, 2016, at Rio Grande Regional Hospital in McAllen.

Born in Nuevo Leon, Mexico, Mr. Rodriguez lived in Pharr most of his life.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Maria Luisa Rodriguez; his parents, Valente and Leonor Rodriguez; two brothers; and a sister.

Candido is survived by 11 children, Juanita I. Andrade of California, Estella (Georgina Lowery) Chavez of San Antonio, Jose A. (Celia) Chavez, Maria G. (Oscar) Villarreal, both of San Juan, San Juana (Ruben) Portales of McAllen, Candido Rodriguez, Jr., Maria F. (Romeo) Rosales, Jesus (Diana) Rodriguez, and Claudia (Javier) Abitua all of Pharr, Martin (Isabel) Rodriguez, Mercedes (Daniel) Torres, Sr., both of Edinburg; 34 grandchildren; 45 great- grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; three brothers; three sisters;

Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with 7 p.m. rosary today May 10, 2016, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 11, 2016, at St. Jude’s Catholic Church in Pharr. Interment will follow at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr.

Funeral Service are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
