CYNTHIA "CINDY" ANN RODRIGUEZ ELIZONDO
EDINBURG - After a prolonged battle with cancer, Cynthia “Cindy” Ann Rodriguez Elizondo died on November 16, 2015 in Edinburg, TX at the age of 40.
She is preceded in death by her father, Jose Rodriguez; and her adoptive parents, Antonio and Gabriela Rodriguez.
Cynthia was born on February 26, 1975 in Edinburg, TX, to Jose Rodriguez and Esperanza Rocha. She grew up with her grandparents, who were her adoptave parents, Antonio and Gabriela Rodriguez in a large, loving family with her aunt/sister, Rosie (Richard) Peralez; and two uncles/brothers, Antonio Rodrigurz Jr. (Gloria) and Juan Rodriguez (Vangie). She graduated from Edinburg North High School in 1993 and excelled in the healthcare Licensed Vocational Nurse career. Cindy was currently employed at DHR Utilization-Case Management Department, and was a parishioner at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Edinburg.
Cindy enjoyed spending time with her family and children. She especially loved watching her children perform in their activites such as dance and cheer; Cindy was their biggest fan. She also enjoyed doing family activities with her closet friends.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Katelyn “Katie” Marie Elizondo and Eduardo ”EJ” Elizondo, Jr.; as well as her sisters, Laurie (Jason) Ruiz; her brothers, Joseph (Valerie) Rodriguez, Jose Jr. (Diane) Rodriguez and Jonathan Rodriguez; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary Wednesday, November 18, 2015, and from 1 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary Thursday, November 19, 2015, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service will take place at 2 p.m. Friday, November 20, 2015, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Edinburg. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Edinburg. A Celebration of Life Reception will follow, all are welcome.
The family would especially like to thank Doctors Hospital at Renaissance Adminstration, Dr. Ghanem Daghestani as well as the numerous physcians that cared for her these past two years, the nursing staff of Doctors Hospital at Renaissance for their constant, attentive treatment, and Memorial Funeral Home for making the arrangements.
