GONZALO MARIO RODRIGUEZ
McALLEN – Gonzalo Mario Rodriguez, 86, died Saturday, October 24, 2009, at McAllen Medical Center.
Mr. Rodriguez was born in Mission, Texas and had lived in McAllen since 1972. He was a veteran of the US Army serving during World War II.
He is preceded in death by three children, Corina, Gonzalo Mario Jr., Ricardo Rocky Rodriguez; and his brothers, Concepcion, Santos and Abelino Rodriguez.
Mr. Rodriguez is survived by his wife, Aurora Rodriguez of McAllen; 12 children, Rebecca R. (L.M.) Snavely of Florida, Lydia R. (Julian) Mora, Mary R. (Frank) Ramirez, Margret Rodriguez, all of McAllen, Alice R. Shah, Marina R. Neira, both of San Antonio, TX, Gloria R. (Ismael) Martinez of Alamo, Mayra (Brice) Rodriguez-Kirkendall of New York, NY, Ruby Rodriguez of St. Helen, MI, Lorena Rodriguez, Celina Rodriguez, both of Austin, TX, Rommel (Geanna) Rodriguez of McAllen; 22 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Otilia Zamora, of Elsa.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 pm, with a 7 pm prayer service, today, October 26, 2009, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Graveside service will be at 10 am Tuesday, October 27, 2009, at Roselawn Cemetery in McAllen. Military honors will be conducted by VFW Post 8788 of McAllen.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
