Luz Maria Rodriguez, 81, passed away Saturday, March 5, 2022, at her residence in Edinburg.
"Luz Maria Rodriguez a lo largo de su vida fue una mujer guerrera, trabajadora, fuerte, y sencilla siempre en todo momento. Lucho contra viento y marea para poder ayudar a su familia y amigos, tanto en Mexico como en Estados Unidos. Fue largo su camino para lograr una vida dichosa a lado de sus hijos(as). Llego a su meta final. Hoy Dios la ha llamado a su presencia para gozar de la Gloria de Dios. Te amamos y te extranaremos por siempre mama. Siempre viviras en nuestros corazones."
She is preceded in death by her husband, Valeriano F. Rodriguez; her parents, Emeterio Aguilar and Gabriela Martinez; four children, Guadalupe "Wallo" Alfaro, Leticia Alfaro, Angelica Alfaro, Arnulfo Ramirez; three siblings, Faustino Aguilar, Teresa Aguilar, and Nicolas Aguilar; three in-laws, Celia Rodriguez, Clara Flores, and Reyes Rodriguez.
Mrs. Rodriguez is survived by her children, Rosa Elia Alfaro, Martha Alicia Meza, Maria Gloria Rodriguez, Gabriela Rodriguez, Esmeralda Rodriguez, Carolina Centeno, Valerio Rodriguez, Amado Rodriguez, Rodrigo Rodriguez, Nemencio Rodriguez, Martin Rodriguez, Rosa Lydia Rodriguez, Juan Rodriguez, Janie Ramirez, Leticia Ramirez, Rosa Ramirez, Eva Ramirez, Diana Rodriguez, Sonia Rodriguez, Joey Rodriguez; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three brothers, David Aguilar, Rafael Aguilar, and Alejandro Aguilar; two sisters-in-law, Rosa Anzaldua and Lydia Coronado; and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. with a 6 p.m. rosary Tuesday, March 8, 2022, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 9, 2022, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Edinburg. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Edinburg.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
