LYDIA V. RODRIGUEZ

SAN CARLOS - Lydia V. Rodriguez, 97, entered eternal rest to be with our Lord on Friday, September 23, 2016, at Rio Grande Regional Hospital in McAllen.

Born in McAllen, she had lived in San Carlos all of her life and was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church. Lydia's pride and joy was spending time with her loving and close knit family. Her hobbies included creating beautiful quilts for family and friends, crocheting, gardening and tending to her plants and loyal pets. She will be dearly missed.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Tranquilino "Kilo" Rodriguez; her parents, Fidencio and Guadalupe Vera; and a daughter, Lela Nash.

Mrs. Rodriguez is survived by eight children, Anita (Margarito) Carreon, Gracie (Jose) Castillo, Minnie (Robert) Cano, Lucy Rodriguez, Ruben (Hermelinda) Rodriguez, all of Edinburg, Johnny (Sylvia) Rodriguez of Arlington, Adela (Blas) Perez of Weslaco, Imelda (Roman) Gomez of Fort Myers, Florida; a son in law, Bill Nash of Edinburg; 32 grandchildren; 74 great-grandchildren; 33 great-great-grandchildren; two great-great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Altagracia Gomez of Dallas.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary Monday, September 26, 2016, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 East Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. Tuesday, September 27, 2016, at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church in San Carlos. Interment will follow at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr.

Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
