MARIA M. RODRIGUEZ EDINBURG - Maria M. Rodriguez, 86, died Monday, December 30, 2013, at Edinburg Regional Medical Center. Born in Staples, Texas, Mrs. Rodriguez had lived in Edinburg most of her life. She is preceded in death by her husband, Macario H. Rodriguez; five brothers, Jose Meza, Manuel Meza, Pablo Meza, Carlos Meza, Panfilo Meza; and three sisters, Gabriela Rodriguez, Maria Meza, and Antonia Reyes. Maria is survived by a daughter, Maria Estela Navarrete; two grandchildren, Christopher (Mariana) Navarrete and Jessica (Stephen) Acosta; two great-grandchildren, Gabriel Acosta and Andrew Acosta; a brother, Apolonio Meza. Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary today, January 1, 2014, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. Thursday, January 2, 2014, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Edinburg. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Edinburg. Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
