Reynaldo "Shorty Prieto" Rodriguez

REYNALDO “SHORTY” “PRIETO” RODRIGUEZ ALAMO – Reynaldo Rodriguez, 64, died Tuesday, January 13, 2015, at McAllen Heart Hospital. Born in Alamo, he had lived there all of his life. Mr. Rodriguez was a retired police officer of 28 years, and a veteran of the United States Marine Corps. He is preceded in death by his parents, Felix and Visenta Rodriguez; two brothers, Roy Rodriguez, Rene Rodriguez; and a sister, Elma Lilie Rdoriguez. Mr. Rodriguez is survived by his wife, Nora Rodriguez of Alamo; eight children, Reynaldo Rodriguez, Rosalva Rodriguez, both of San Juan, Rosabel (Juan) Rico, Rosario Rodriguez, Christian Joseph Garcia, Christopher Joab Garcia, all of Alamo, Felix Rodriguez of Pharr and Gaudencio Olgin of Edinburg; and six grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m., prayer service today, January 14, 2015, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will take place at 1 p.m. today, January 15, 2015, at Heavenly Splendor Family Church in Alamo. Interment will follow at Rio Grande Valley State Veterans Cemetery in Mission. Military Honors will be conducted by Post 93 of Mission. Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
