PHARR – Teresa Rodriguez, 81, died August 30, 2016, at her home in Pharr.
Born in Torrean, Coah., Mexico, Teresa lived in Pharr most of her life.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Ramon Rodriguez; her parents, Mariano and Elvira Ezquerra; two siblings, Patrocinio Avila, Ana Maria Fernandez.
Teresa is survived by her children, Maria S. (Baldemar Salazar) Rodriguez and Ramon Rodriguez, both of Pharr; five grandchildren, Daniela T. Salazar, Baldemar Salazar, III, Mateo L. Salazar, Raleigh Rodriguez, Lilyana Rodriguez; four siblings, Candida Rodriguez, Mariano Ezquerra, Ofelia Pereda, Raquel Ezquerra.
Teresa had one last wish which was to donate her brain to Parkinson’s research, a selfless act on her part that her children fulfilled with the help of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan and Gift of Hope Center in Los Angeles, CA. She was a stern woman but also a very loving, caring and giving mother, grandmother and human being. Teresa and her husband, Ramon, moved here from California to start a new life with dreams of owning a business of their own and they achieved it by being the owners of Su Casa Café in Pharr for 18 years.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary, Thursday, September 1, 2016, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. Friday, September 2, 2016 at St. Jude’s Catholic Church in Pharr. Interment will follow at Valley Memorial Gardens in McAllen.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home of San Juan.
