- Anna Lois Rogers, 91, died Saturday, March 12, 2016, at Comfort House in McAllen, TX

She was born in Novelty, Missouri on February 8, 1925, daughter to Parker Johnson Newkirk and Leta Jane Wilson Newkirk. She attended Novelty School in Novelty Mo graduating in 1943.

She united in marriage with Carroll L Rogers on December 27, 1944 in Knox City MO. Having retired from their family farm in Novelty MO they had moved to Kirksville MO and had enjoyed wintering in Alamo TX.

She is preceded in death by a son, Lee Edward Rogers; and her parents, Parker & Leta Newkirk.

Anna is survived by her husband, Carroll L. Rogers of Kirksville, Missouri;
a daughter, Linda Carol Rogers Leykamp of Alamo, Texas;
a son, Lester Steven Rogers of New Braunfels, Texas and his wife Rhonda Lynn Parsons Rogers;
four grandchildren; Leslie Michele Leykamp Danford of Marietta GA, married to Russell Graham Danford, Mark Steven Leykamp of Dallas TX,
Todd Michael Leykamp of Burbank CA,
Robyn Lynn Rogers Trotty of Houston TX married to Christopher George Trotty,
two great-grandchildren; Anna Sophia Danford and Nicholas Graham Danford of Marietta GA
a brother, Thomas Parker Newkirk of Sonora, TX married to Barbara Jane Bailey Newkirk
and a sister, Katharine Newkirk Bieberle Blair of Fort Smith, Arkansas.

Visitation will be held from 9 to 11 a.m., followed by an 11 a.m. funeral service on March 16, 2016, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan, Texas and (pending time and date) at Hudson Rimer Funeral Chapel in Edina, Missouri, followed by a graveside service at Novelty Cemetery in Novelty, Missouri.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Shriners Hospital Charity.

Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
