MARIA N. ROMERO SAN JUAN - Maria N. Romero, 64, died Tuesday, April 16, 2013, at Comfort House in McAllen. Mrs. Romero was a lifelong resident of San Juan and was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Parish. She was employed by PSJA ISD Food Service Department until her retirement in 2007 from Carman Elementary. She is preceded in death by her husband, Erasmo Romero; her mother, Maria Munoz; and a brother, Jose Raul Munoz. Mrs. Romero is survived by four children, Maricela Romero, Noelia Romero Gutierrez, Lisa Romero and Erasmo Romero Jr., all of San Juan; two grandchildren, Alberto Ramses Gutierrez and Ana Daniela Gutierrez; three brothers, Jose (Elvira) Verdin, Juan (Rosa) Munoz and Jesus Munoz, all of San Juan; three sisters, Ester (Jesus) Rodriguez, of Alice, Texas, Eva (Edwin) Concha, of Taos, New Mexico and Carolina (Roberto) Martinez, of San Juan; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held from 3 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary today, April 17, 2013, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 18, 2013, at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at San Juan Cemetery. Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
