ROMELIA M. “LA TIA NENA” DE LA ROSA
SAN JUAN – Romelia M. “La Tia Nena” De La Rosa, 73, died Friday, February 17, 2012, at her residence in San Juan.
Mrs. De La Rosa was born in Elsa and lived in San Juan most of her life.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Gregorio De La Rosa Jr.; her parents, Telesforo and Marta Lopez; two brothers, Francisco and Jose Lopez.
Romelia is survived by seven children, Rosalinda (Guadalupe) Rojas of San Juan, Diana De La Rosa of Temple, Texas, Frank (Kathy) De La Rosa of McAllen, Sylvia (Daniel) Cruz of La Feria, Leonel De La Rosa of Oklahoma, Gregorio “Greg” De La Rosa III and J.J. Gonzalez both of San Juan; 14 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; a brother, Telesforo (Maria) Lopez; three sisters, Yolanda (Reymundo) Muñoz of Gary, Indiana, Juanita (+Emilio) Trejo of West Chicago, Illinois and Noelia (Pedro) Gonzalez of Edinburg; numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary today, February 19, 2012, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Monday, February 20, 2012, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Parish in San Juan. Cremation will take place at Val Verde Memorial Gardens in Donna.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
