RUBEN V. RODRIGUEZ
EDINBURG – Ruben V. Rodriguez, 82, passed away Tuesday, August 27, 2024, at McAllen Medical Center.
Ruben was a truck driver most of his life and dedicated 23 years at International Paper Company in Edinburg. He enjoyed spending time with his family, visiting friends, traveling, and playing the game of pool.
He is preceded in death by his grandson, Joshua Noel Cantu; parents, Tranquilino Rodriguez and Lydia Vera; and a sister, Audelia Nash.
Mr. Rodriguez is survived by his wife, Hermelinda G. Rodriguez; four children, Ruben (Maribel) Rodriguez Jr., Melissa (Ricardo) Garcia, Belinda Castillo, Eliza (Gustavo) Villarreal; seven grandchildren, Reuben Adrian Rodriguez, Jeric Ivan Rodriguez, Jonathan Ryan Cantu, Kaitlyn Madison Castillo, Khole Amaris Castillo, Alec Joshua Villarreal, Noah Eliazar Villarreal; five great-grandchildren, Reuben Adrian Rodriguez Jr. “R.J.”, Jacob Ryan Cantu, Ava Jean Cantu, Joshua Noel Cantu, Jon Ryan Cantu; seven siblings, Imelda Gomez, Adela Perez, Lucila Rodriguez, Anita Carreon, Emelia “Minne” Cano, Gracie Castillo, Johnny Rodriguez; numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. with a 6 p.m. rosary Friday, August 30, 2024, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, August 31, 2024, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Edinburg. Interment will follow at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
