WILMA RUIZ
PHARR- Wilma Ruiz, 58, died Saturday, May 2, 2009 at LifeCare Hospital in McAllen.
Born in Alamo she had lived in Pharr most of her life. Wilma was a Jail Supervisor with the Pharr Police Department. She was the Rock of the family and always was available to give a helping hand. Wilma was a very Patriotic person who really enjoyed life as a whole. She was a tremendous football fan and supporter.
Ms. Ruiz is preceded in death by her parents, Marcos and Gabriela Ruiz.
She is survived by her sister, Winnette R. (Jose) Handy of Pharr; two brothers, Pilar (Helen) Navarro of Santa Rosa, Juan J. (Angela) Ruiz of San Juan; Nieces and Nephews, Lety Handy, Sandra H. (Rolando) Benitez, Jose William (Connie) Handy Jr., Cynthia Handy, Michelle N. (Lauro) Guerrero, Javier (Alex) Navarro, Patricia N. (Raymond) Laurel, Veronica Navarro, Evangelina (Romeo) Cano and Juan Gabriel Ruiz; great-nieces and great-nephews, Matthew Brown, Catherine W. Handy, Jose William Handy III, Veronica L. Benitez, Orlando X. Benitez, Paul Samuel Benitez, Diego Guerrero, Lisa Guerrero, Jordan Fox Navarro, Chenoa Navarro, Nicole Ruiz, Natalie Ruiz, Nathan Ruiz, Kyle Cano and Aiden Cano; her four-legged babies, Red, Reva, Grayphin, Adingoette, Tinkerbell, Mishka, Mufasa, Ginger-ly, Bono, and Blue.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 pm with a 7 pm rosary, today, May 4, 2009 at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will be at 10 am Tuesday, May 5, 2009 at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Mission. Interment will follow at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr. Pallbearers and Honorary Pallbearers will be members of the Pharr Police Department.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
