MARIA AMELIA RUTLEDGE EDINBURG - Maria Amelia Rutledge, 82, died Sunday, February 8, 2015, at Edinburg Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Born in Mercedes, Mrs. Rutledge had lived in Edinburg since 1952 and was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church. She is preceded in death by her husband, Nicolas Rutledge; and six siblings, Felix, Joe, Albert Garcia, Otila Buendel, Josephine Rutledge. Amelia is survived by two sisters, Eva G. Gorena of Edinburg and Gregoria G. Gonzales of San Antonio; two step-children, Evanna (Dale) Cramer of McAllen, and Jaime Carlos (Marci) Rutledge; and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary today, February 10, 2015, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. Wednesday, February 11, 2015, at Holy Family Catholic Church, 1302 E. Champion St. in Edinburg. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Mercy Cemetery in Mercedes. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Holy Family Catholic Church 1302 E. Champion St. Edinburg, TX 78539. Funeral service are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
