CANDELARIO SAENZ EDINBURG - Candelario Saenz, 77, owner of Cande's Bakery for over 35 years died Thursday, May 29, 2014, at his residence in Edinburg. Born in Weslaco he had lived in Edinburg most of his life. He is preceded in death by his wife, Berta Saenz; his parents, Teofilo and Paula Saenz; and two sisters, Lala Romero and Isabel Saenz. Mr. Saenz is survived by three children, Jose Daniel (Irma) Saenz of Houston, TX, Candelario (Maribel) Saenz, Jr. of Pharr and Polly Ann (Simon) Garza of Edinburg; five grandchildren, Iris, Cande, III, Haron, Roger and Alex; three great-grandchildren, Lynessa, Damian and Lillian; five siblings, Diorica (Santos) Maldonado, Martina (Cruz) Vega, both of San Carlos, Daniel (Molly) Saenz of Grand Prairie, TX, Lalo (Amada) Saenz of Edinburg, and JP Gilbert (Maria) Saenz of Donna; and his caregiver, Teresa Bolanos of San Juan. Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary, Sunday, June 1, 2014, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton in Edinburg. Funeral services will take place at 10 a.m. Monday, June 2, 2014, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Edinburg. Interment will follow at Valley Memorial Gardens in McAllen. Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
