Gilberto Saenz II, 46, entered eternal rest surrounded by his loving family Tuesday, January 26, 2021, at his residence in Donna.
Gilbert was born February 26, 1974 in Laredo and was a lifelong resident of Donna, Texas. He graduated from the University of Texas-Pan American and was a partner at Salinas, Allen & Schmitt LLP in Weslaco. He was a devoted husband, brother, and son, but most of all a loving father to his three children. Gilbert was a caring, hardworking, and admirable individual who fought eight long and hard years against his battle with ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease).
Mr. Saenz is survived by his loving wife, Norma Saenz; three children, Gilbert Saenz III, David Saenz, Sophia Saenz; his parents, Judge Gilberto and Maria Saenz; a brother, Homer (Ana) Saenz; two sisters, Sarah (Jaime) Pena and Nadia (Armando) Medrano; numerous extended family.
The family would like to give a special thanks to his caregivers, San Juana Garcia, Olivia Closner, Olga Gonzalez and Calidad Home Health & Hospice.
Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., followed by a 2 p.m. funeral service Tuesday, February 2, 2021, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Interment will follow at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
