Olivia Saenz

OLIVIA SAENZ EDINBURG - Olivia Saenz, 90, went to be with the Lord Thursday, September 26, 2013, at Solara Hospital in Edinburg. Mrs. Saenz lived in Edinburg all of her life. She loved keeping a flower garden, cooking and spoiling her family with her home cooked meals. Her tender spirit touched many lives. She will be terribly missed. Her sense of humor never left her even in her last days, almost as if she was trying to alleviate our pain. If she came over to visit and there was something in your garden she liked, she was sure to ask for "una podita" (a small cutting). The best legacy she leaves her family is her example of blind faith. She believed that Jesus answered prayer and is now in His presence rejoicing. She is preceded in death by her husband, J. Cornelio Saenz. Olivia is survived by two sons, Ramon Saenz and Lazaro (Angie) Saenz, both of Edinburg; three daughters, Isabel (Rey) Galindo, Olga Lydia Saenz, both of Edinburg, and Alicia S. (Miguel) Zamora of McAllen; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Velia Valadez and Olga Gonzalez, both of McAllen. A prayer service was held Friday, September 27, 2013, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service will take place at 1 p.m. today, Saturday, September 28, 2013, at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Edinburg. Interment will follow at Val Verde Memorial Gardens in Donna. Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
