ALICIA "LICHA" SALAZAR
PHARR - Alicia "Licha" Salazar, 86, entered eternal rest Friday, October 22, 2010, at Solara Hospital in McAllen.
Mrs. Salazar was born in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico and had lived in Pharr for 61 years. She was a member of St. Anne's Catholic Church in Pharr.
She is preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Mary Vela and Gloria De La Cruz; and a brother, Ruben Dario De La Cruz.
Mrs. Salazar is survived by her husband, George G. Salazar, of Pharr; four children, George A. (Yvette) Salazar, Ruben Salazar, Nilda Salazar, all of Pharr, Sylvia Salazar, of McAllen; six grandchildren, Kristy (Marc), Sandra, Erika, George, Michelle and Sarah; four siblings, Virginia Reyes and Elida Cortez, both of Weslaco, Estanislao "Tanilo" De La Cruz, of Corpus Christi, Texas, Jovita Garcia, of Joliet, Illinois; and a sister-in-law, Martina Vela and her family.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 pm, with a 7 pm rosary today, October 24, 2010, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will be at 11 am Monday, October 25, 2010, at St. Anne's Catholic Church in Pharr. Interment will follow at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
