AURORA SALAZAR
PHARR - Aurora Salazar, 79, died Monday, September 19, 2011, at Rio Grande Regional Hospital in McAllen.
Mrs. Salazar was born in Los Herreras, Nuevo Leon, Mexico and had lived in Pharr most of her life.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Candelario and Eufemia Saavedra; five sisters; three brothers; and a great-granddaughter, Phoebe Nevaeh Salazar.
Mrs. Salazar is survived by her husband, Felipe Salazar, of Pharr; 11 children, Armandina (Alberto) Rodriguez, of Alamo, Alfredo (Elia) Salazar, of Dallas, Texas, Americo (Evelia) Salazar, of Stockton, California, Maria Ermila (Arturo) Loredo, of Lockeford, California, Maria Elvia (Carlos D. )Frade, of McAllen, Antonio (Marina) Salazar, Guillermina (Alejandro) Lopez, Juan Pablo (Hermelinda) Salazar, all of Lodi, California, Leticia (Rafael) Herrera, Felipe Salazar Jr., both of Pharr, Leonila (Rolando) Rodriguez, of San Juan; 38 grandchildren; 61 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Jesus Prado, Guadalupe Martinez, both of Alamo; and a sister, Dominga Escalon, of Lodi, California.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary today, September 21, 2011, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, September 22, 2011, at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Pharr. Entombment will follow at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
