GEORGE JAIME SALAZAR EDINBURG — George Jaime Salazar, 65, joined his Heavenly Father, Friday, November 1, 2013. Jaime was a lifetime resident of Edinburg and a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church. He served in the National Guard then took over and operated the family business of Ace Awnings & Floors in McAllen. He enjoyed his long business career that provided many homes and businesses with custom hard wood flooring and canvas awnings. After retirement, his favortie past times inculded gardening, home projects, and his daily reciting of the Holy Rosary. His ulitimate joy in life was spending time with his grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, Salome and Alicia Salazar; and a brother, Jerome Salome Salazar; father-in-law, Jose Noe Gonzalez, Sr.; mother-in-law, Pauline G. Gonzalez; and a brother-in-law, Jose Noe Gonzalez, Jr. Mr. Salazar is survived by his wife, Martha L. Salazar, of Edinburg; three children, George Jaime (Lori) Salazar II, of McAllen, Gerardo Javier (Kelly) Salazar, Anissa Laura Salazar, both of Edinburg; three grandchildren, Mia Gabrielle, Mateo Del Ray, Stella Isla; three siblings, Cynthia (George) Monsevalles, of Covington, Texas, Aldo Rene († Vanita) Salazar, of McAllen, Anna Melissa (Lee) Espinosa, of Edinburg; two sister-in-laws, Kathryn Flanagan Salazar and Lucy G. (Ricardo) Canales, of Edinburg, nieces and nephew, Crystal N. Salazar, of Los Angeles, California, Katie Salazar and Salome "Sal" Salazar, Karalyssa A. Canales and Giliana D. Canales; and a grandniece, Kiley R. Salazar of Edinburg, Texas. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. followed by a memorial Mass at 4 p.m. Wednesday, November 6, 2013, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Edinburg. In lieu of flowers the family requests consideration for organ donation or donation to the Texas Organ Sharing Alliance. At the time of Jaime's passing he was listed as a renal transplant candidate for a second time. Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
