MARIA T. SALAZAR
EDINBURG — Maria T. Salazar, 69, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, December 8, 2015. Born in Edinburg, she had lived there all of her life and was a member of Baptist Temple in McAllen. She is preceded in death by her parents, Pedro and Martina Garza; and a brother, Noe Garza. Mrs. Salazar is survived by her husband, Aurelio Salazar Jr.; four children, Martin (Aida) Salinas Jr., Rogelio Salinas, Noemi Salinas, Belinda (Damian) Gonzalez, all of Edinburg; six grandchildren, Stephanie (Gilbert) Renteria, Martin Salinas III, Marcus Salinas, Nathaniel Dueñas, Rogelio Salinas Jr., Ethan Gonzalez; four great-grandchildren, Javier, Gilbert, Robert and Omar Renteria; five sisters, Modesta (Noe) Ramos, Ofelia (†Alberto) Ramos, Esmeralda (Gregorio) Garcia, Linda (Alfredo) Guerrero, Irma (Jesus) Alvarado; a brother, Pedro (Maria Estela) Garza II; four stepchildren, Abel (Denise) Salazar, Michael (Noelia) Salazar, Marisol (Felix) Cruz, Iris (Anthony) Ramirez, all of Edinburg; eight step grandchildren, Michael Anthony Salazar, Abel James Salazar, Felix Cruz III, Aaron Salazar, Anthony Ramirez Jr., Anissa Cruz, Vanessa Salazar, Abrie Ramirez; and one step great-grandchild, Sofia Salazar. The family would like to thank the staff of Gentiva Hospice for the care given to their mother. Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. prayer service today, December 9, 2015, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service will take place at 2 p.m. Thursday, December 10, 2015, at Baptist Temple in McAllen. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Edinburg. Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
