RUBEN SALAZAR
SAN JUAN - Ruben Salazar, 77, died Thursday, July 9, 2009 at San Juan Nursing Home.
Born in Nuevo Leon, Mexico, Mr. Salazar had lived in San Juan all of his life and was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Parish in San Juan.
He is preceded in death by a daughter, Olivia Salazar; his parents, Juan and Eudelia Salazar; and a brother, Ramiro Salazar.
Mr. Salazar is survived by his wife, Eduvijes Salazar of San Juan; seven children, Dr. Juan Salazar and Olivia (Juan) Quintanilla, both of Sharyland, Raquel Salazar and Samuel (Dolores) Salazar, both of McAllen, Elida (Ruben) Vargas of Alamo, Blanca (Tomas) Ramirez of Austin, Texas and Norma (Larry) Boghs of San Antonio, Texas; 13 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a sister, Emma Marquez of McAllen; and three brothers, Raul Salazar, Pablo Salazar, both of Mission and Jose Salazar of Kyle, Texas.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 pm, with a 7 pm rosary today, July 10, 2009, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will be at 10 am Saturday, July 11, 2009, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Parish in San Juan. Interment will follow at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home.
