CASIMIRO SALINAS EDINBURG – Casimiro Salinas, 90, died Monday, December 8, 2014, at Doctors Hospital at Renaissance in Edinburg. Born in Estacion Herreras, NL, Mexico, Mr. Salinas had lived in Edinburg most of his life and was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Edinburg. He is preceded in death by his parents, Ramon and Teofila Salinas; and seven siblings, Marta Solis, Lazaro Salinas, Ramon Salinas, Elida Vallejo, Cruz Cantu, Otila Dimas, and Raul Salinas. Casimiro is survived by his wife, Victoria Salinas; five children, Maria Ester (Alvaro) Salinas, Oscar (Rosa Delia) Salinas, Maria Elena Lopez, Casimiro (Sandra) Salinas, Jr., Maria Luisa (Edmundo) Martinez; 13 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Olivia Rios of Edinburg and Enedina Perez of Monterey, NL, Mexico. Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary today, December 10, 2014, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. Thursday, December 11, 2014, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Edinburg. Interment will follow at Valley Memorial Gardens in McAllen. Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
