ERASMO SALINAS, JR. EDINBURG — Erasmo Salinas, Jr., 62, died Tuesday, May 14, 2013, at Mission Regional Medical Center. Robert Greenleaf's definition of a "Servant Leader" centers on the belief that it is a process, which begins with an individual's natural desire to assure other people's highest priority needs are met. Erasmo was the epitome of a Servant-Leader. He exemplified the essential characteristics to the development of servant-leaders. At a young age, Erasmo created a vision of the most fulfilling vocation to serve others, a "Social Worker". This combination empowered Erasmo with self-confidence and the belief he could make a change in the life of others and bring out the best efforts from each individual. As a Social Worker, Erasmo did not merely symbolized the attributes of a Servant-Leader to his community, he personified the essence characteristics of a Transformation Leader, who motivated others to do more than expected. Erasmo's Idealized Influence Attributes and Behaviors described him as a leader, who can be counted on to do the right thing through high ethical and moral standards; and was an exemplary role model for associates who wanted to emulate him. Even after Erasmo retired after 30 years of dedication and devotion as a Social Worker, he continued with his natural desire to assure other people's highest priority needs were met. His love for music (Tejano), his many talents and love of traveling (jet setter) personified who he was. A man of many talents who was loved very much by his family and friends will be greatly missed. He is survived by his wife, Sara L. Salinas; one son, Ricco A. (Rebecca) Salinas; one grandson, Maximino Salinas; his father, Erasmo Salinas, Sr.; his mother, Elvira Salinas; one brother, Omar Salinas; four sisters, Diana Salinas, Esther S.
