GUADALUPE SALINAS, JR.
MCALLEN - Guadalupe Salinas, Jr. died Sunday, August 12, 2018, at McAllen Heart Hospital.
Guadalupe retired as a Lieutenant with the Pharr Police Department and was currently employed by the San Juan Police Department.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Guadalupe Salinas and Juanita Salinas; and a sister, Eduvina Salinas (Guzman).
Mr. Salinas is survived by his wife, Velma Martinez Salinas of McAllen; three sons, Sergio (Erika Garza) Salinas of San Juan, Marco Salinas of McAllen, Rafael (Lizbeth) Lizcano of Pharr; five daughters, Anna (Julio Ortiz) Salinas of Edinburg, Cassandra Vega, Vanessa Vega, Marissa Vega, all of Pharr, Claudia Lizcano of Mission; four grandchildren; and three siblings, Mary Alice Chandler, Mary Jane Salinas, Jose Salinas.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary Wednesday, August 15, 2018, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Memorial service will take place at 2 p.m. Thursday, August 16, 2018, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Parish in San Juan. Interment of cremated remains will follow at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
