GUADALUPE A. SALINAS
EDINBURG - Guadalupe A. Salinas, 80, died Friday, April 6, 2012, at his residence in Edinburg.
Born in Zapata, Texas, Mr. Salinas had lived in Edinburg since 2007 and was formerly of Corpus Christi. He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving during the Korean Conflict and served eight years in the Army Reserves.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Federico and Adela Salinas.
Mr. Salinas is survived by his wife, Ninfa G. Salinas; two sons, Jacob (Lorena M.) Salinas, Aaron J. Salinas, all of Edinburg; two daughters, Rachel Salinas (Rene R.) Cantu, of Corpus Christi, Texas, Ruth Salinas, of Edinburg; a sister, Trinidad S. Hoyt; a brother, Abel Salinas, both of Corpus Christi, Texas; and four grandchildren, Jacob Salinas Jr., Carmen Eloisa Salinas, Sarah Renee Cantu and Noah Christopher Cantu.
Visitation will be held from 1 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. prayer service Monday, April 9, 2012, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 10, 2012, at Grulla Mennonite Brethren Church in La Grulla. Interment will follow at Rio Grande Valley State Veterans Cemetery in Mission.
Pallbearers will be Jacob Salinas Sr., Aaron Salinas, Rene Cantu, Jacob Salinas Jr., Baldemar Salinas, Roel Guerra. Honorary pallbearer will be Noah Christopher Cantu.

Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
