ISIDORA (DORA) SALINAS SAN JUAN — Isidora Salinas, 91, died peacefully at her home in San Juan, Texas surrounded by her family on Saturday, October 20, 2012. She was born and raised in Mission, Texas. She retired from the Woolworth Company after 29 years of dedicated service. She enjoyed gardening, playing board games, going to the bingo and spending time with her family. She was a kind person with a loving heart who always put others before herself and will be missed greatly by her family. She is preceded in death by her parents; Elias Sr. and Nestora Perez Salinas, her brothers and sisters: Manuel (Melchora) Salinas, Juana (Reymundo) Jimenez, Eustolio (Zulema) Salinas, Antonia Salinas, Mercedes (Susie) Salinas, Maria de Jesus Salinas and her daughter Maria Elena Garcia. She is survived by her sister Guadalupe Salinas, and her brothers Cresencio (Alicia) Salinas, and Elias Salinas Jr.; a daughter, Anita (Esteban Jr.) Garcia, of San Juan; three granddaughters, Rosanna (Scot) Shepard, of Pearland, Illeanna (Ray) Aguirre, of San Juan, Adriana (Bill) Searcy, of San Antonio; two great-granddaughters, Alynna and Jordanna Shepard, both of Pearland; two great-grandsons, Tristan and Tyler Aguirre, both of San Juan; and numerous nieces and nephews. Her family would like to thank her providers: Mari, Tonia Ortiz, Irma Reyna, Christina Perez, Rosalinda Ruiz and a special thanks to Adela Martinez all who provided care, comfort and peace during her final days. Visitation will be from 5 to 9pm, with a 7pm rosary Wednesday, October 24, 2012 at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan, Texas. Funeral service will be at 10am Thursday, October 25, 2012, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Parish in San Juan, Texas. Interment will follow at Valley Memorial Gardens in McAllen, Texas. Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan, Texas.
