Alfredo "Freddy" Salinas Jr., 62, entered eternal rest Thursday, October 13, 2022, at South Texas Health Systems Edinburg.
Freddy was a lifelong resident of Edinburg. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and an A.C.T.S. member of the community. Freddy was involved in community service throughout his lifetime through youth baseball leagues, and was always there to give a helping hand to those in need. Freddy was also an avid Cowboys, and Astros fan, and enjoyed singing with fellow musicians at the Salinas Sun Palace. Freddy enjoyed family barbecues, and spending time on Social Media. The love he had for his family was unconditional. He was a beloved father, grandfather, brother, son, and best friend to many.
He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Alejo and Santos Salinas; and maternal grandparents, Aguedo and Dubelsa Garcia and granddaughter Phoenix Salinas.
Freddy is survived by four children, AJ (Gabriela) Salinas, Jennifer (Chris Gamez) Salinas, Mark (Mayela) Salinas, Amy "Baby" Salinas; eight grandchildren, Noah, Eli, Ashley, Autumn, Isaac, Victoria, Emma, and Olivia; his parents, Alfredo Salinas Sr. and Lydia Garcia Salinas; and three siblings, Dalia "Dolly" (Jaime) Salinas, Xavier Salinas, Iris Salinas Perez and cousin Cyndi Ruiz. Four nieces; Samantha Gonzales, Annette Ruiz, Megan and Morgan Salinas.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m., with a 6 p.m. rosary Sunday, October 16, 2022, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton in Edinburg. The funeral mass will take place at 10 a.m. Monday, October 17, 2022, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Edinburg. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Edinburg.
