Fidencio Salinas, Jr., 70, passed away peacefully February 26, 2021, in the comfort of his home with his wife beside him and surrounded by his family, after a battle with cancer.
Born in McAllen, Mr. Salinas lived in Pharr all of his life. He was employed as a bookkeeper by Cantu and Sons in McAllen for 13 years and then became a sales representative for Farmer Brothers Company for 33 years.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Fidencio G. Sr. and Lydia C. Salinas; and a sister, Marta Olivia Salinas.
Mr. Salinas is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Yolanda Salinas; three children, Xavier (Mirna) Salinas of San Juan, Edna (Chris) Schroeder of Fort Worth, and Myra Salinas of San Antonio; five grandchildren, Yolanda Renee, Jade Catherine, Charles Timothy, Avery Elizabeth, Olivia Isabella; six great-grandchildren; four brothers, Rene Francisco Salinas, Fernando Salinas, Humberto Salinas, Ernesto Salinas; and three sisters, Rosa Maria Shannon, Dahlia Reyes, and Criselda Vela.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m., with a 6 p.m. prayer service Tuesday, March 2, 2021, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will take place at 12 noon Wednesday, March 3, 2021, at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr.
