JULIA "WELA" SALINAS EDINBURG - Julia "Wela" Salinas, 74, died Saturday, November 15, 2014, at Doctors Hospital at Renaissance in Edinburg. Mrs. Salinas was born in Yorktown, TX and had lived in Edinburg most of her life. She is preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert Luis Salinas, Sr. Julia is survived by four sons, Ricardo (Diana) Salinas, Gilbert (Magdalena) Salinas, both of Hereford, TX, Larry Salinas (Gloria Barrientez), Adam Salinas, both of Edinburg; five daughters, Norma Jean (Antonio) Cervantez, Antonia (Johnny) Buentello, both of Hereford, TX, Nora Ann (Juan, Jr.) De Los Santos, Anita Salinas, Laura Jean (Alex) Rodriguez, all of Edinburg; 32 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Adan Mungia and Felix Mungia, both of Hereford, TX; six sisters, Linda Hill of Hereford, TX, Anita Gallardo, Sandy Stewart, Josie Mungia, all of Amarillo, TX, Eva Urias, Adelfa Silva, Claude, TX. Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary today, November 18, 2014, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. Wednesday, November 19, 2014, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Edinburg. Interment will follow at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr. Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
