MARIA R. SALINAS “Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life” – Revelations 2:10 ALAMO — Maria R Salinas,79, went home to be with our Lord Wednesday, June 3, 2015. Maria passed peacefully at her home in Alamo surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Salinas made Alamo her home for over 50 years. Mrs. Salinas leaves a legacy of Love, Peace and Faith within her surviving family. Maria was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great and great-great grandmother. She is preceded in death by her husband, Celso Salinas, Sr. Maria is survived by her nine children; 33 grandchildren; 50 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. Maria had a strong and loving heart. She rejoiced at the opportunity to have her family gathered for holidays but most importantly found comfort and serenity having her family gathered at her house for no particular reason on an ordinary Saturday. Mami and Abuela are words that will not sound the same without her….. She will live forever in our hearts. Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. prayer service Friday, June 5, 2015, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will take place at 9 a.m. Saturday, June 6, 2015, at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Val Verde Memorial Gardens in Donna. Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
