Maximiliana "Irene" Salinas, 85, passed away Friday, June 3, 2022, at Knapp Medical Center in Weslaco.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Jesus Salinas Sr.; a son, Rogelio Salinas; parents, Rufino and Juana Avendano; two brothers, Diego and Jose Avendano.
Mrs. Salinas is survived by five children, Rosalinda (Miles) Mendoza, Dora Ma (Juan Rivera) Salinas, Yolanda (Ramiro) Rivera, Olga L. Salinas, Jesus (Janet) Salinas Jr.; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; five siblings, Guadalupe (Janie) Avendano, Manuela (Rey) Barbosa, Inocensia (Melchor) Martinez, Olivia Reyes, Elvia (Mauro) Silva.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. with a 6 p.m. rosary Friday, June 10, 2022, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 11, 2022, at St. Pius Catholic Church in Weslaco. Interment will follow at Highland Memorial Park in Weslaco.
