OLGA SALINAS
SAN JUAN- Olga Salinas, 93, passed away peacefully Saturday, January 30, 2021, at her residence in San Juan surrounded by her family.
Born May 22, 1927, in General Trevino, Nuevo Leon, MX, Olga lived in Pharr for most of her life. She always provided support and love for her family, and she and her husband Saul worked tirelessly to provide opportunities for their children.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Saul Salinas; a grandson, Alexander Murillo; her parents, Enrique Salinas and Corina Longoria; three brothers, Cesar Salinas, Roel Salinas, Mario Salinas; and five sisters, Cora Ramirez, Pura Avila, Cleopatra Renteria, Rosalva Salinas, and Marianela Cantu.
Olga is survived by a son, Roberto (Darci) Salinas of Carlisle, OH; three daughters, Corina (+ Fred) Murillo of Pharr, Elvia (+ Mayelo Valdez) Salinas of San Juan, Letti (Patrick) Gavin of Charlotte, NC; eight grandchildren, Monica Murillo, Juliana Jump, Elisa M. Lewis, Tara O. Hudson, Ryane Gavin, Chelsea Lile, John Gavin, Jacob Gavin; 12 great-grandchildren, Andrew Longoria Murillo, Alexis Murillo, Corynna Murillo, Olivia Hudson, Arley Hudson, Jack Napolitano, Nora Jump, Samuel Lewis, Anna Lewis, Robert J. Hudson, Caroline Hudson, Landon Lile; a great-great-grandchild, Nicolas A. Murillo; a brother, Noe Salinas of Detroit, MI; and one sister, Imelda Cerda of San Juan.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m., with a 6 p.m. rosary Tuesday, February 9, 2021, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Live streaming will be available via Zoom using Meeting ID 875 4537 3773, passcode 157338. Funeral service will take place at 12 noon Wednesday, February 10, 2021, at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Pharr. Interment will follow at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to the Alzheimer's Association.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
